a lot of water has passed under the bridge since the release of etienne jaumet’s night music, dating from october 2009. his hypnotizing music and enchanting live performances put him directly on the map. it’s just him who is in control of his ship. he moves without complexes from his saxophone to his drum machine (his beloved tr 808) while turning knobs modulating synths, and sending his voice through an echo.la visite, etienne’s brand new album, more luminous and jazzy than its predecessor, has been composed and produced within a two month period in the versatile studio. it became a piece of introspection, mentally as well as physically. in the title track, for which flop wrote the text, we hear etienne travelling through the inside of a body, fantastic voyage style.it is always surprising to see a record taking shape. etienne would arrive at the studio without any precise idea in head, approaching his work rather intuitively. he works standing up, which brings a very different energy than being seated behind a computer polishing up every detail. he is in total mastery of his set-up, ready to capture that short-lived moment of true creation. the only use a computer has for him, is to record his experiments - afterwards being mixed by jerome caron (blackjoy).in between night music and la visite, etienne has not been lazy. not only has he done numerous collaborations (amongst others with joakim, richard pinhas, francois & the atlas mountain) and picked up djing, he has also recorded a new zombie zombie album (rituels d’un nouveau monde) with cosmic neman, as well as the soundtrack loubia hamra. and he worked with artist felicie d estienne d orves on the installation satori. at this very moment, etienne and his saxophone are still part of the tour of james holden.

the efforts of label chief max_mand attic musics own fabrizio lapiana as so far proven to be a potent combination. sharing wax space for the last two releases on m_rec ldts discreet new 10 inch vinyl series, the pair have so far turned in a stirring duplet of some of the finest, fully-formed pieces of modern techno music. now, for the third installment, max_m steps aside to let a brand new outfit take the helm. the mysterious and so far unreleased overall severitynestles comfortably into the a-side with another swollen, undulating melodic arrangement, true to form of what we have seen from the series so far. then on the b-side, fabrizio lapiana offers more of his dark and groovy techno, toned in what has become a signature splash of vintage british-redolent electronica.

brilliant new balearic house ep from copenhagens music for dreams label. the opening track came to life when two danish djs - mads dalholt and zimino - made their own remixed version of al jawalas *go east* for playing out. mfd label head kenneth bager heard it, loved it, tested it out on his coma club dancefloor and it drove the crowd nuts with people literally screaming for more rewinds of this pumping horn-blasting oriental in-your-face party track. if you are a fan of acid arab and 80s leo mas/afredo style amnesia dancefloor madness then this one is for you. on side b we have the debut track from mads dalholt and partner landers - *zengo* is a sexy uplifting house groover with spacey keyboards, afro vocal hooks and a lively sax. followed by a second landers/dalholt cut, the slower more balearic *aelba* is built around a simple melodic guitar riff with some mellow xylophone bringing a warm sunshine feel. great debut for the young danes.

for the sixth instalment in our catalogue we are extremely happy to be welcoming two new faces to the tribal pulse family. during our label showcase at last years amsterdam dance event, sonic union from sweden and khen from israel voiced their intentions to collaborate on writing a track in the specific style of tribal pulse. the week before our showcase at this years ade we have the privilege of releasing it, and we think you will agree that they have hit the nail on the head.

for some ageing producers, the nineties represent a lost land of hazy parties, forgotten nights and emotion-tugging tunes. but for the fresher-faced end of the dance music spectrum - such as the la-based dj and producer urulu - those post acid house, pre-mp3 days are a neverland of the imagination, something to be relished vicariously through the mags, memories and music of 20-odd years ago. two years back, urulu - aka taylor freels - even released a single called *1991*. it might have made some grizzled club kids feel a bit old, but the love and euphoria in his music are there for all to hear. but jump right up to the minute, and urulu is back in action for sheffields shabby doll label.

locked groove marks his return to hotflush with the grandiose, puzzlingly-titled >enigma<. its a colossal record whose bass-centric melody looms large. large enough, even, to inspire what is nowadays a rare scuba remix. a counterpoint to these theatrics comes in the way of wandering in a cage, a broken-beat creeper flaunting the belgians ear for subtlety, and two beatdown versions of the title track that fit neatly into your dj toolbox.

from the copenhagen underground comes a new raw house label. both known and up and coming talents contribute with anonymous releases on a series of two trackers exclusively on vinyl. for the first release we have a rare filter house workout with a disco sample filtered to perfection to give you that hypnotic feel when everything melts apart and comes together again in that breakdown. for the b-side we have another classic house exercise, one of those chop chop rollers that just keeps the floor going with its eternal bassline and an organ riff sampled and resampled into obscurity.

having taken a break from releasing on the basic grooves imprint, shane linehan returns to his native label with a straight up house music two tracker. side a meditate on this takes inspiration from detroit styles. moving chords, slammin claps and a chopped up scat style vocal is what s on offer here. the b side -the unintentional dub is a stripped back eeh, dub true to the original bg style.

in the lead up to his debut solo album the ten thousand yen label boss returns home with four essential cuts, with two vocal features from la s seven davis jr. the ep is led by what s it gonna be? which is already picking up early love in the clubs and on radio by the likes of annie mac & skream. from the disco-charged drive of together to house/acid/techno morph ghost text to the r&b lean of i promise , the from mine to mistress ep is a diverse collection of tunes that really show off daneeka s varied production style.

the platform is extremely crowded, however, and she cant get to mick, who is standing at the opposite end, so she shouts his name. two other passengers relay the message to mick that sue wants to talk with him. what does she want? mick relays back. tell him that im not going to marry richard, sue shouts. why not? mick asks. -because i love you! she relays. when the message finally gets to mick, he tries to make his way through the crowd but he cant get to sue, so he climbs on top of the crowd and walks over the peoples shoulders to get to her. in the final scene, they embrace while the crowd cheers.

there is definitely something mysterious about hiss:1292, and unlike a number of other techno projects, it is not the identity of the two producers at stake here

ltd 2014 repress !! jared wilson is keeping the acid alive in detroit. ghettoblaster is jareds second release on his label 7777. this love, is a slower deep track with haunting 303 bassllines and a a voice chanting this love. the title track, ghettoblaster is a jacking stomper for the floor. last two, is a very nice chicago influence acid beat track. our favorite is the intens this love with amazing 303 which sounds like aphex twin doing chicago house.

acid4 is here on strictly limited orange wax and once again more mystery 303 tweakers are joining the acid revolution. on the a-side we have two tracks of the intense, slightly distorted and raw quality, and the b-side presents us with classic chicago influenced acid bangers
